Celebrate Jimmy Stewart’s Birthday with Harvey

My introduction to Jimmy Stewart came via the Rich Little impersonation featured in commercials for Little Debbie snack cakes. Those are some tasty snack cakes, but that’s a very sorry way to be introduced to Jimmy Stewart. It took me years to make the connection, and I wish I hadn’t.

Here’s a much more fitting tribute to American film’s greatest Everyman. To mark the 103rd birthday of Jimmy Stewart, I give you my favorite scene from Harvey.

• I finally saw Bringing Up Baby this week. Roger Ebert provides a succinct brief on the critical and commercial failure of the movie at it’s release.
• Lars Von Trier gets a lot of attention at Cannes. Makes Kirsten Dunst want to crawl in a hole and die.
• I like movie viewing girls, I like 12 Angry Men, and I like lists. It’s kismet!
