Film Friday | Weekly Roundup

So Pretty Clever Film Gal wakes up this morning, rubs the sleep from her eyes, and what does she see? Snow! Honest to goodness snow! This might not seem strange, this being Canada and all. But I’ve been in the true north for a couple of years now, and have had my snow expectations unmet. Will it stick? Will I get to sled, ice skate on a pond, and build a snow man? Well, I’m not actually going to do any of those things. But we all know, snow days are awesome days for wrapping up in a warm blanket and watching a movie! Yay for snow days! But while the snow still gently falls, I will go about my appointed rounds across the interwebs and bring you the best and neatest of the week. Happy sledding, reading, and viewing!

Well it’s another week done gone, ladies and gents! The weather in Toronto is a little nutty, ranging from downright nippy to warm enough for a/c in a single day. In true Canadian fashion, as soon as the sun peeks out, every man, woman, and child heads outside under the banner of “this might be the last nice day!” (Canadians go a bit fruity about summer, ya’ll.) But Pretty Clever Film Gal, for one, is looking forward to a beautiful autumn, shorter days, and longer nights for movie watching! October is a fine month on TCM with tons of Buster Keaton and drive-in horror movies, so warm up the dvrs. Now let’s get down to it and take a look at the best and brightest the interwebs had to offer this week. Happy reading and happy viewing! Read the rest of this entry →
